You will hear your baby louder than anyone else, so don't panic, just do what you need to do. Pick them up, give them a cuddle, you know your baby better than anyone else!
For both baby massage and baby yoga please bring your normal change bag, along with any feeds and comforters your baby may need.
Please bring along a blanket or towel for you baby to lie on. For baby massage you will be stripping your baby down to their nappy (or naked if you prefer).
As part of the baby massage course you will receive a bottle of massage oil, but do bring along any oils or creams that you use if you would prefer to use these.
Of course, please just let me know in advance so I can ensure there is enough space around your mat.
Definitely, I only charge for one space as it is you that I am teaching. You will sit alongside the trainer for baby massage, and will have two demonstration dolls in order to show you how to massage in tandem.
For baby yoga I will support you in working with both of your babies and offer adaptations where possible.
Of course, the needs of your baby come first. I would always typically advise to wait 45 minutes after any feed to continue with the baby yoga or baby massage.
Sleep is so important. This is when your baby makes sense of the world. Cozy them up and let them sleep. Massage and yoga can help relax your baby to fall into a deeper and longer sleep, so this may happen during or at the end of class.
It is advised to wait 24-48 hours after immunisations for both baby massage and baby yoga.
I then advise you to avoid massaging the top of your babies thighs for about a week so that you don't irritate the injection site.
I always advise to patch test any new products on your baby before use.
If you notice any rash or irritation on the skin, please stop using the product immediately. Massage can sometimes make the skin a little pink as we are bringing the blood to the surface of the skin and increasing the circulation.
As long as this subsides after the message, this is perfectly normal.
It is advisable to have your 6 week check before starting any kind of exercise.
Baby yoga is gentle stretches for both you and your baby so ensuring it is safe for you both to do so is important.
